Dear Parishioners,
I was asked by Fr. Marek Kupka, pastor of Saint Adalbert Parish, to appeal for help for the rising number of Ukrainian refugees fleeing to Poland for safety since the war began. The Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Drohiczyn, Poland, is in dire need of some items for the refuge children, most of them from Ukrainian orphanages. For boys and girls, ages 4 through 18 the following items are needed: spring and summer clothing, underwear and socks (multipacks requested), shoes, especially sneakers. They can be dropped off at Saint Adalbert Church, located at 866 Atwells Avenue in Providence, or in one of our church entrances when you come to Mass. If anyone prefers to support them financially, you can visit the church website for more information www.stadalberts.us and make your donation. With all the options available to assist the Ukrainian people at this time we can express our solidarity and witness to our faith by supporting the efforts of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland. Your positive response as in the past for our appeals is greatly appreciated. I also have reached out to all the parishes of Deanery V of which Father Marek’s church is a member for mutual support. God bless your week!
Father Ed
