Easter Egg Hunt....

The Annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt was held on Saturday, April 15th.  Approximately 18 members of Compass and Catholic School Confirmation candidates contributed to setting up and conducting an Egg Hunt.  A great time was had by all who attended and all those who planned the event.  The Easter Bunny paid a special visit to all the kiddies who came on Saturday.

This month’s Challenge:

Comfort someone in mourning or distress.

Timeline to complete is June 8th

Each month the members of Youth Ministry will be presented a challenge based on humanitarian efforts /service.   The challenge will be selected at the first Youth Ministry meeting of each month.  We also challenge members of our parish youth to participate.  The challenge will appear in the bulletin for that month with the deadline for completion.  Each completed submission must be accompanied by a photo of the individual completing the challenge and a signed index card from the supervisor / individual who was the beneficiary of the service. At the end of the year, the individual with the most completed challenge will be the Youth Ministry Humanitarian of the Year!!  COME ON FOLKS LET’S GET INVOLVED.

Some Challenge 1 - Submissions:

Box City - Awareness - Teamwork

A huge thank you to all those who participated in Box City this year:  Gian Perrotta, Paige Gaboury, Rob Bello, Mary Grande, Nick Croce, Wilson Ramos,  Kyle Rathbun,    Jackie Forlini, Nick Forlini, Allison Jasper, Haley Jasper, Julia Jasper, Joy Kowalski and Paul Hennesssey.

They spent the night from January 28th through January 29th at the parish center,  sleeping outside until the next morning’s mass in an effort to raise awareness for the homeless in Rhode Island.  They also sought out individual sponsors and raised $385 for our Outreach Ministries.

They should be commended.  Not many teens would give up a Saturday night with friends to sleep outdoors in the middle of the winter to raise awareness.

Thank you to all the parishioners who supported our efforts.  A special thanks to Father Ed and Father Mark for their support and encouragement and for spending a portion of their Saturday with the kids.

Recent Events:

P-Bruins Faith and Family was held on Friday April 7th at 7 PM. The event was attended by 17 parish remembers and Compass members.  A great time was had by all.  The P-Bruin won the game!
