THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

There can be no true peace if everyone claims always and exclusively his or her own rights, without caring for the good of others.

Dear Parishioners of Saint Anthony, Saint Edward and Presentation Churches,

Mother Nature asserted her authority last weekend as the Stewardship results indicate.  I am appreciative that more of you are signing up for online giving which helps the church bills to be paid on time.  Information on enrolling is on the parish website.

For those of you who could not attend last weekend and were unable to access the bulletin on the website, I want to reiterate what I wrote in my letter. I am so grateful to for the cards and gifts Father Nolasco and myself received throughout the Christmas season.  Most especially I am appreciative of your generous support of our outreach ministries to the hungry and homeless through toys, food and monetary contributions.

I am grateful to the effort that went into the December 18th Christmas Concert and reception organized by Toby Andrews and volunteers to welcome Saint Maria Goretti Parishioners.  We want to continue to create an atmosphere of welcome and hospitality to that others may be drawn to join our one faith community with three different houses of worship.

Father Nolasco will be leaving this week for a well-deserved vacation and visit to his family in Colombia.  During the month he is away there will be no 9 AM Sunday Masses.  Regular attendees will be welcome at any of the five Masses I celebrate over the weekend as many Saint Edward parishioners have been accustomed to attend over the years.  The Spanish masses will, of course, be celebrated and you are welcome to there too.

Once again I want to thank parishioners from all three churches who volunteer which such commitment and enthusiasm in out outreach ministries.  May God continue to bless your efforts to shine His light upon the darkness of poverty and homelessness in our state.

God Bless your week

Father Ed

Outreach Mobile Lunch Ministry - Christmas Day

What an amazing way to spend Christmas Morning, preparing our mobile lunches for delivery.  Approximately 30+ individuals showed up to receive the lunches and food provided by our Outreach Ministry.  In addition to the food.  Each recipient was given a sweatshirt or fleece jacket (collected by Youth Ministry during the Coat Drive) to provide some additional warm during the harsh winter months. (Some reflection of Christmas morning coming soon)
